Abstract: Results are presented on the pressure-splitting and -shifts of the $23 cm^{-1}$ resonant band mode absorption of $NaCl:Cu^{+}$. A new resonant band mode is shown to be present in $CsJ:Tl^{+}$ at $14.5 cm^{-1}$. The occurrence of low-lying disorder-induced lattice absorption in the paraelectric phase of ferroelectric $NaNO_{2}$ will be discussed.
