Title: THE MICROWAVE SPECTRUM OF THE CIO RADICAL Creators: Amano, T.; Saito, S.; Hirota, Eizi; Morino, Y.; Johnson, Donald R.; Powell, F. X. Issue Date: 1968 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: The microwave spectrum of the CIO radical in the $^{2}\Pi_{1/2}$ and $^{2}\Pi_{1/2}$ states has been observed by passing a mixture of chlorine and oxygen gases through microwave discharge. The analysis of the spectrum gave the rotational constants, magnetic hyperfine coupling constants, A-type doubling constant, chlorine nuclear quadrupole coupling constant, and spin-orbit coupling constant. The equilibrium internuclear distance was estimated to be $1.569 \pm 0.001 {\AA}$. Description: The portion of this work that was performed at NBS was supported in part by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.
