Title: SOME FORBIDDEN TRANSITIONS IN SIMPLE MOLECULAR SPECTRA
Creators: Rank, D. H.; Wiggins, T. A.
Issue Date: 1962
Abstract: A description will be given of experiments in which the 1-0 band of the quadrupole spectrum of hydrogen has been observed and measured. Experiments will be described in which complicated induced Q branches have been observed in HCl and HBr perturbed by a few atmospheres of rare gases. We shall also show the 002-000 band of $C^{12}O^{16}O^{18}$ which we have first observed in the solar spectrum. Laboratory measurements were also made on this band using a 200 meter absorption path
