Title: THE $v_{3}$ AND $v_{1}$ BANDS OF THE $^{17}O^{16}O^{16}O$ AND $^{16}O^{17}O^{18}O$ IS0TOPIC SPECIES OF OZONE: LINE POSITIONS AND INTENSITIES, Creators: Perrin, A.; Heyard, M.; Flaud, J.- M.; Camy-Peyret, C.; Rinsland, C. P.; Smith, M. A. H.; Devi, V. Malathy Issue Date: 1992 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: Room temperature absorption spectra of $^{17}O$-enriched ozone have been recorded around 10 $\mu$m at $0.005 cm^{-1}$ resolution with the Fourier transform spectrometer located in the McMath solar telescope on Kitt Peak. Using these data, the first analysis of the $v_{3}$ (A-type) and $v_{1}$ (B-type) bands of $^{16}O^{17}O^{18}O$ together with the hybrid (both A- and B- type) $v_{3}$ and $v_{1}$ bands of $^{17}O^{16}O^{18}O$ isotopic species of ozone was performed, leading to the following band centers $v_{0}(v_{1})=1095.69309 cm^{-1}$ $v_{0}(v_{3})-1035.35869 cm^{-1}$ and $v_{0}(v_{1})-1087, 82895 cm^{-1}$, $v_{0}(v_{3})-1024. 39553 cm^{-1}$ respectively for the $^{16}O^{17}O^{18}O$ and $^{17}O^{16}O^{16}O$ isotopic species. The experimental rotational energy levels of the [(100) (001)] interacting vibrational states were very satisfactorily reproduced using a Hamilton matrix which takes explicity into account the Coriolis interactions for the $^{17}O^{18}O$ ($C_{2v}$ -symmetry) and both formi- and coriolis-type interactions for $^{17}O$ $^{17}O^{16}O^{16}O$ ($C_{2}$ - symmetry). For the $^{16}O^{17}O^{16}O$ isotopic species the line intensities were calculated by transferring the dipole moment function of $^{16}O_{3}$ to $^{16}O^{17}O^{16}O$. These intensities were then used to determine the amount of $^{16}O^{17}O^{16}O$ in the cell and, assuming a factor of 2 between the abundances of $^{17}O^{16}O^{16}O$ and $^{16}O^{17}O^{16}O$, the amount of $^{17}O^{16}O^{16}O$ was evaluated allowing the measurement of 70 line intensities of the $v_{1}$ and $v_{3}$ band lines of this last species. From these experimental values, the coefficients appearing in the transformed transition moment operators of these bands were derived. Finally, a complete spectrum of the $v_{1}$ and $v_{3}$ bands of $^{16}O^{17}O^{16}O$ and $^{17}O^{16}O^{16}O$ has been generated.""
