Title: Pure Rotational Spectra of Rare Gas - CO Dimers Creators: Jäger, Wolfgang; Ogata, Teruhiko; Ozier, I.; Gerry, Michael C. L. Issue Date: 1992 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: Pure rotational spectra of the rare gas-co dimmers CO-Ne, CO-Ar and CO-Kr have been measured with a cavity microwave fourier transform spectrometer. Each dimer is a near-symmetric prolate rotor, and the observed transitions are a-type R branches, having $\Delta J=+1$ and $\Delta K_a=0$. For CO-Ne, lines having $K_a=0$ have been observed for at least two different values of $J^{\prime}$ for the isotopomers $^{12}C^{16}O-^{20}Ne$, $^{12}C^{16}O-^{22}Ne$, $^{13}C^{16}O-^{20}Ne$, $^{13}C^{16}O-^{20}Ne$, $^{13}C^{18}O-^{22}Ne$, and $^{13}C^{17}O-^{20}Ne$. From the measured $^{17}O$ quadrupole hyperfine structure a value for $<\cos^{2}\theta>$ has been determined, where $\theta$ is the angle between the CO axis and the a principal moment of inertia axis. Similar measurements have been made for CO-Ar and CO-Kr. For CO-Ar, lines having $K_a=1$ have also been measured for the parent isotopomer. The structures of the complexes will be discussed.
