Title: ENERGY TRANSFER MECHANISMS AND TWO PHOTON EFFECTS IN $^{13}CH_{3}F^{*}$ Creators: Matteson, William H.; Skatrud, David D.; De Lucia, Frank C. Issue Date: 1983 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: Energy transfer mechanisms and collisional processes have been studied in the $^{13}CH_{3}F$ optically pumped Far Infrared laser by means of millimeterwave spectroscopy. A model based upon a master equation approach is used to fit these experimental results in terms of energy transfer probabilities. This model then is used to predict the performance of an optically pumped laser as a function of pressure, pump rate, and cavity parameters. We have also investigated twophoton processes in $^{13}CH_{3}F$. In these experiments an RF field is applied in addition to the $CO_{2}$ pump and the millimeter diagnostic probe. $^{*}$Worked supported by the Army Research Office, Grant DAAG-29-80-C-0026.
