Title: HYPERFINE AND ZERO-FIELD SPLITTINGS IN THE $^{9}\Sigma$ GdO MOLECULE Creators: Van Zee, R. J.; Ferrante, Robert F.; Zeringue, K. J.; Weltner, W., Jr. Issue Date: 1981 Abstract: The GdO molecule, produced by vaporization of solid $Gd_{2}O_{3}$, has been trapped in solid neon and argon matrices at $4^{\circ} K$ and studied via ESR spectroscopy. Fine structure and extra Lines (off-principal-axis absorptions) establish that the ground state is $^{9}\Sigma$ with a zero-field splitting parameter $|D|$ = =0.21(1) $cm^{-1}$ Weak $^{157}Gd, ^{155}Gd$ hyperfine splittings are observed for each of the strong perpendicular lines.
