Title: LINE STRENGTHS OF $N_{2}O$ IN THE 2400-3100 AND $4000-4760 cm^{-1}$ REGIONS Creators: Toth, R. A. Issue Date: 1981 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: Measurements were made with low sample pressures and only isolated or slightly blended lines, which were near the linear part of the curve-of-growth, were considered in the analyses to determine the band strengths, F factor coefficients and dipole moment matrix elements. In all, the band strengths of 47 bands were obtained in this manner. The bands included ground state transitions and hot’‘ bands of $^{14}N_{2}0^{16}O$ and the bands: (1200),(2000),(0111),(0002) of the molecules, $^{14}N^{15}N^{16}O, ^{15}N^{14}N^{16}O, and ^{14}N_{2}^{16}O$. The band notation is ($\nu_{1}\nu_{2}\ell\nu_{3}$). Additional measurements were made at higher optical densities in the (2001) band in which several of the lines were far from the linear part of the curve-of-growth. For these measurements, the Voigt parameter. a, was 0.19,0.30,0.44 and 0.70. Interestingly, the strengths obtained for a = 0.19 were smaller than those determined at lower optical densities by as much as 18%., whereas for a = 0.70, the strengths were in good agreement and well within the experimental uncertainty.
