Abstract: The vibrational properties of the series S-(+)-Ph-CHD-X $(X = CH_{3}, CH_{2}D, CHD_{2}, CD_{3})$ have been studied in the 3-5 $\mu m$ region. Both infrared and Raman spectra have been used to make a vibrational assignment. The circular dichroism spectra have been used to test validity of the charge flow model for the calculation of vibrational rotational strengths.
