Abstract: We are engaged in the calculation of thermodynamic values for energy-related compounds. Previous study of organic compounds has shown significant shifts of low vibrational frequencies between the liquid and vapor phases. Thus, vapor phase vibrational spectra are required. Such Raman spectra of the six isomers of dimethylpyridine (lutidine) have been obtained. Since the lutidines are high-boiling liquids, a heated sample cell was designed.
