Title: TUNABLE LASER SPECTROSCOPY OF ETHYLENE IN THE C-H STRETCHING Creators: Fayt, A.; Lambeau, Ch.; De Vleeschouwer, M.; Pine, A. S. Issue Date: 1980 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: Low pressure absorption spectra of ethylene with Doppler-limited resolution has been recorded using a tunable difference frequency laser technique. The spectra cover the region between 2930 and $3230 cm^{-1}$ with an absolute precision of 5.10$^{-4}$ $cm^{-1}$. Four bands are clearly identified; they correspond to the $\nu_{9}, \nu_{11}, \nu_{2} +\nu_{12}$ and $2\nu_{10} +\nu_{12}$ levels. The analysis has been applied to those four levels simultaneously to take into account many anharmonic and c-type Coriolis interactions mixing them. Ground state combination difference from $\nu_{9}$ and $\nu_{11}$ (up to J = 40 and $K_{a} = 15$) have been used to improve ground state parameters of ethylene by over an order of magnitude.
