Abstract: Ground state xenon fluoride at a rotational temperature at $\sim 5^{\circ}\,K$ is prepared in a continuous supersonic expansion of a mixture of xenon, fluorine, and helium through a nickel nozzle heated to $610^{\circ}$ C. Laser excitation spectra are generated by crossing the beam with a frequency-doubled, nitrogen laser-pumped tunable dye laser that has a bandwidth of about 1 GHz in the ultraviolet. Fourteen cold bands $(v^{\prime} = 8, 9, 11-22)$ and eighteen hot bands $(v^{\prime\prime} = 1, v^{\prime} = 9, 12-22; v^{\prime} = 2,; v^{\prime\prime} = 19-23; v^{\prime\prime} = 3, v^{\prime\prime} = 21)$ have been observed; each vibrational band is comprised of seven isotopic bands. Our study extends analysis of the XeF $\tilde{B}(\Omega = 1/2)\leftarrow \tilde{X}{^{2}}\Sigma^{+}6$ to higher $v^{\prime}$ levels than have previously been reported. Ground and excited state rotational and also vibrational parameters have been obtained. Our results are compared with those of recent studies of this $^system^{1,2}$
