Title: HIGH RESOLUTION LINE STRENGTHS OF THE $\nu_{1} + \nu_{3}$ BAND OF $NO_{2}$ Creators: Toth, R. A.; Hunt, R. H. Issue Date: 1978 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: The data were obtained with the Florida State grating instrument at a resolution of $0.019\, cm^{-1}$. Sample pressures ranged from 0.05 to 0.6 Torr and the samples were at room temperature $(296^{\circ}\,K$). Transitions for the parallel bond were observed from P40 to R46 ($2862-2933\, cm^{-1}$) for K up to and including 9. Spin splittings were observed for $1\leq k \leq 9$ and were included in the analysis. The results indicate that the line strengths for each value of K can be calculated via the rigid rotor expression in terms of N but that the strengths show a K dependency. The measurements ($0.0033\, cm^{-1}$ resolution) and quantum assignments of Dana and Maillard (Tours 1977) were used to determine values of absolute line positions and spin splittings for the 2890 to $2932\, cm^{-1}$ region.
