España Contemporánea was founded in 1988 by Samuel Amell, Professor of Spanish and Portuguese at The Ohio State University, in collaboration with Professor José Carlos Mainer from the University of Zaragoza, Spain. The journal publishes multifaceted analysis and scholarly research on a wide range of topics pertaining to contemporary Spanish literature and culture.
