Energy Services and Sustainability (ESS), an element of the Facilities Operations and Development department at The Ohio State University, serves as the university energy and sustainability office. Working in concert with the Office of Energy and Environment (OEE) and the President and Provost's Council on Sustainability, ESS develops and coordinates the implementation of energy and sustainability planning, education, and programming in support of the university’s core goals: Teaching and Learning, Research and Innovation, Outreach and Engagement, and Resource Stewardship. The ESS mandate spans energy management, sustainable materials management, climate management, green building, and outreach efforts. The office is the hub of energy and sustainability activities for students, faculty, staff, and the greater Ohio State community.
