Cluster I: Climate Change

Cluster I: Climate Change is a interdisciplinary forum for
scholarly interactions. The mission is to develop world-class
research and academic programs, prioritize and address current
issues pertinent to the climate and environmental change, establish
linkages with national and international programs, and develop
inter-disciplinary academic curricula. More specifically, Climate
Change scientists are addressing the current issues related to the
accelerated greenhouse effect; establishing the database with
regards to the indicator of climate change; studying carbon
sequestration, researching surface chemistry and other
technological options to mitigate the greenhouse effect; assessing
economic and environmental impact; and studying the human
dimensions. This mission is achieved through: • Establishing
cooperative linkages with other programs, • Developing
research and academic programs that address current issues, and
• Sponsoring campus-wide forums that provide opportunities for
multi-disciplinary activities.
