Faculty Advisory Council (The Ohio State University Libraries)
Permanent URI for this collection
The Faculty Advisory Council (FAC) serves as a vehicle through which the Dean and Associate and Assistant Deans of University Libraries consult the faculty on matters of planning, policy, and other items of general interest. FAC is responsible for organizing Faculty Meetings.
This committee addresses the following: 1) the requirement for consultation by the director with the faculty in accordance with Rule 3335-3-35; 2) ensuring that the views of the faculty be solicited and considered when decisions are made on issues that substantially affect the library and its faculty; and 3) the library administration’s need for a means of ascertaining faculty sentiment on significant issues, and of obtaining useful advice for resolving those issues. This committee is neither a reporting committee nor an oversight committee.
Before February 2011, the Faculty Advisory Council was known as the Policy and Planning Committee (P&P).
This collection includes the minutes of Faculty Meetings, FAC meetings, and P&P meetings.
