Title: DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE OF A NEW RAMAN SPECTROMETER
Creators: Haber, H. S.; Chupp, V. L.
Issue Date: 1970
Abstract: A new high performance Raman spectrometer embodying a triple monochromator with three 1800 line/mm gratings and no slit mismatch will be described. Six parabolas are used in a new configuration to overcome the problem of excessive aberrations usually associated with monochromators designed with large off-axis angles. In combination with a highly efficient laser emission line filter, the overall system provides Raman spectra which are completely free of all commonly observed artifacts. The performance of this system will be illustrated with spectra obtained on a prototype instrument.
