Abstract

The $\nu_{1}$ fundamental band of $D_{2}H^{+}$ has been detected using a tunable infrared difference frequency system.$D_{2}H^{+}$ was generated in a liquid-nitrogen cooled dc glow discharge using a 2:1 mixture of $D_{2}:H_{2}$. Amplitude discharge modulation was used to observe about 35 b-type transitions between 2640 and $2990 cm^{-1}$. A least squares fit of the data gave values for the band origin and rotational constants.
