Abstract:	Collision free lifetimes and total quenching cross sections have been measured for $Li_{2} A_{1}\Sigma_{u}^{+}$ as a function of the degree of vibrational excitation. The lifetimes are independent of v and average 18.0 $\pm$ 1.9 nsec. The quenching cross sections range from 185 to 406 \AA$^{2}$
