<title>The Influence of Light and Temperature on Fat Utilization in Female Clemmys Insculpta</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/1811/5553</link>
<description>The Influence of Light and Temperature on Fat Utilization in Female Clemmys Insculpta
Brenner, Fred J.
Laboratory populations of female Clemmys insculpta were subjected to different conditions of light at two environmental temperatures to assess their influence on fat utilization, as well as on the reproductive condition of the species. Both light and temperature affected the rate of fat utilization in muscle, but not in the liver. However, a variation did occur in the fat content in all three tissues of animals exposed to different light and temperature conditions. A positive correlation existed between ovarian fat content and maturation of the ova.

<description>Monography of the Genus Silphium : I. Silphium composium Michaux (Compositae)
Sweeney, Carol R.
Silphium compositum, a polymorphic species of southeastern United States, is recognized to consist of the following subspecies: ssp. compositum, ssp. reniforme, ssp. venosum, and ssp. ovatifolium. The subspecies are distinguished primarily by leaf and achene characters, and are sympatric in some areas. Descriptions, synonomy, distribution maps and citation of representative specimens of the taxa are included.

<title>Annotated List of the Personosporales of Ohio (I. Albuginaceae and Peronosporaceae)</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/1811/5551</link>
<description>Annotated List of the Personosporales of Ohio (I. Albuginaceae and Peronosporaceae)
Ellett, C. Wayne
The known Ohio species of the Albuginaceae and of the Peronosporaceae, and of the host species on which they have been collected are listed. Five species of Albugo on 35 hosts are recorded from Ohio. Nine of the hosts are first reports from the state. Thirtyfour species of Peronosporaceae are recorded on 100 hosts. The species in this family reported from Ohio for the first time are: Basidiophora entospora, Peronospora calotheca, P. grisea, P. lamii, P. rubi, Plasmopara viburni, Pseudoperonospora humuli, and Sclerospora macrospora. New Ohio hosts reported for this family are 42.

<title>The Age, Stratigraphic Relationships, and Correlation of the Lower Part of the Olentangy Shale of Central Ohio</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/1811/5549</link>
<description>The Age, Stratigraphic Relationships, and Correlation of the Lower Part of the Olentangy Shale of Central Ohio
Tillman, John R.
The Olentangy Shale of central Ohio (Delaware County) is made up of two distinct stratigraphic units separated by an unconformity. The Upper Olentangy Shale is Upper Devonian in age, and is both lithologically and paleontologically distinct from the Lower Olentangy Shale, which is Middle Devonian (Hamilton) in age. The age distinction is based primarily on a comparison of the ostracod faunas. Other invertebrates from the Lower Olentangy Shale also suggest a Middle Devonian age. The Lower Olentangy Shale correlates with the lower of the exposed units of the Plum Brook Shale of northern Ohio. Most of the invertebrate species of the Lower Olentangy Shale, as well as several ostracod species from the Plum Brook Shale, are illustrated.
